AR QR code: 3D and AR that opens from a scan

An AR QR code opens a 3D or AR scene in the phone browser with one scan. Build the scene in the OVER WebAR Builder, publish it, and print the code on packaging, posters, menus or badges. No app to install.

Real capture · QR to AR

From a table QR code to 3D dishes in the browser

A scan opens the published scene in Safari or Chrome: no app store, no download.

What is an AR QR code (augmented reality QR code)?

An AR QR code is a normal QR code that opens an augmented reality experience instead of a plain web page. The phone camera reads the code, the browser opens the scene, and 3D content appears in the room, on a product or on a printed image. With OVER it runs in the browser, with no app.

How do you make an AR QR code?

Build the scene in the WebAR Builder: upload your 3D models or generate them with the built-in AI tool, add video, links and simple interactions, then publish. Each published scene gets a link and a QR code. Print the code, and the scene opens in the browser when someone scans it.

  1. 01

    Build the scene

Upload your 3D models or generate them from text in the browser editor. Add video, images and links.

  2. 02

    Choose what the camera sees

Place the scene in front of the visitor, on a printed image target, or on a real place mapped with VPS.

  3. 03

    Publish

Every published scene gets a link and a QR code.

  4. 04

    Print and share

Put the QR code on packaging, posters, menus, badges or a store window.

Do people need an app to scan an AR QR code?

No. The camera app on iPhone and Android reads the QR code and opens the link in Safari or Chrome. The AR scene loads in the browser and asks for camera access, with no app store step. That keeps the time from scan to 3D content short, which matters on a shelf, a poster or a busy stand.

AR packaging, print, events and retail: where AR QR codes work

Packaging

AR packaging and printed cards

The QR code on the box opens the scene; the printed artwork works as an image target.

Print

Posters and street campaigns

A printed QR code launches an interactive 3D apparel experience in seconds.

Events

Events and showrooms

Visitors scan a code at the stand and step into a 360° virtual room from Safari or Chrome.

Retail

Retail products

Shoppers inspect a 3D handbag at true scale before buying.

Is the WebAR Builder an AR QR code generator?

Yes, and more. A simple AR QR code generator wraps one 3D file in a code. The WebAR Builder lets you compose the whole scene, with several models, video, links, image targets and VPS location anchors, and then gives you the QR code for it. Persistent, non-expiring links come with the Pro plan.

Questions buyers ask

Can I try it for free?

Yes. You can start with a free workspace to build and test scenes. Free publications are temporary; for live campaigns, the Pro plan keeps links and QR codes active. See the pricing page for details.

Which 3D files can I use?

Upload your own 3D models, such as GLB files, or generate new ones from text or images with the built-in AI tool.

Can the AR stick to the product or the poster?

Yes. Use the printed artwork as an image target, so the 3D content appears on the package, card or poster the visitor is looking at.

Can I see how many people scanned it?

The Pro plan includes basic analytics to track views of each experience.

Which phones does it work on?

Experiences open in iOS Safari and Android Chrome. The built-in camera app reads the QR code and opens the link.
