A Pointr alternative without beacons
Looking for a Pointr alternative? Pointr positions visitors with beacons and sensors. OVER uses the phone camera instead, so there is no hardware to install, and pairs it with a 3D map, a web map and kiosks.

How does the Pointr blue dot position visitors?
According to its website, Pointr places Bluetooth beacons and sensors in the venue and uses their signals to show a blue dot on the map, with a stated accuracy of one to three meters. It covers maps, kiosks and analytics for large organizations, and offers an app-free option called Pointr Express.
What changes with indoor positioning without beacons?
With camera positioning there is nothing to install, power or replace in the building. The phone camera and a 3D map give centimeter-level positioning, enough for AR arrows on the real floor. Mapping is a single 360° walk. The trade-off: visitors hold up the phone briefly so the camera can see the space.
See it working in a real mall
The same technology is live in a 150,000 m² multi-floor shopping mall. Real visitors scan a QR code and follow AR directions in the browser.
